A personal
note from Neil Miller
I have technical training in
electronics and have held middle
management positions in the
aerospace, software and information
technology industries. Experience
includes sales, marketing, contracts
management and intellectual property
licensing. My degree is in cultural
anthropology from San Jose State
University, plus graduate work at
the Ohio State University.
After more than 35 years in the
corporate world, I determined that it
was time to do something that brought
pleasure to myself and others
ArtVisions was started in 1994 to
market the work of a single artist; OLAYA (his work is on the ArtVisions web
site). But, after a short time, I
discovered that I did not enjoy going to
stores and galleries with an armload of
art and trying to convince a myopic
small business person to do the right
thing (maybe I was spoiled after doing
multi-million dollar deals in the
international arena).
The business soon evolved into a
short-run printing business which lasted
almost 3 years. [I was also a myopic
small gallery owner for a short period
during this time].
I decided to go back to marketing
art and realized that one artist
wouldn’t support the business. I
determined that licensing and marketing
suited my talents and experience, and
had a reasonable chance of success. Fine
Art licensing also meets my goal of
brightening the world; and, while it is
hard work, it is also a tremendous
amount of FUN!
To get started on the right foot, I
carefully reviewed submittals from
hundreds of artists and now represent
about 14 of the best.
The result is:
